On the afternoon of February 20, our university and Bahauddin Zakaria University of Pakistan jointly organized an online signing ceremony. Li Huanfeng, Vice President of HAUT, attended the signing ceremony, while Wu Lan, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Zhang Haojun, Dean of the School of International Education, Wang Youyou, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Zhao Zhihua, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, attended the signing ceremony in the conference room of the Administration Building A606. Zubair Iqbal, President of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Javed Ahmed, Dean of Faculty of Science, and Dr. Muhammad Essam Mazhar, Associate Professor of Faculty of Science, attended the signing ceremony. The ceremony was co-chaired by Liu Guoshi, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office of HAUT and Dr. Buta of Bahauddin Zakariya University.

    Dr. Mazar firstly made a brief introduction to Bahauddin Zakariya University. Founded in 1975, Bahauddin Zakariya University is one of the leading comprehensive universities in Pakistan, which is currently ranked 8th in Pakistan and top 800 in Times World University Ranking, and is qualified to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in various disciplines such as engineering, sciences, social sciences and humanities etc. It has already established connections with many universities in the world and enjoys a good reputation in the field of education in Pakistan.

   Subsequently, Li Huanfeng briefly introduced the university's characteristic and advantageous disciplines as well as open school-running strategy. He emphasized that the relationship between China and Pakistan is special and friendly, and they are good partners with heart-to-heart relationship and good friends with win-win cooperation, and the “hardcore” friendship is everlasting. He hoped that the two universities can continue to strengthen the cooperation on the basis of this foundation and background, continuously explore new areas and modes of cooperation, and strive to make important progress in the exchange of teachers and students, scientific research cooperation and other fields.

   Zubair Iqbal, President of Bahauddin Zakariya University, said in his speech that China and Pakistan have maintained a long-lasting friendship and strategic partnership over the past 73 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and Pakistan treasures its friendship with China, and Bahauddin Zakariya University attaches great importance to the cooperation with Chinese universities. He hoped that the signing of this contract can open a new chapter of cooperation between the two universities. It is hoped that the two universities can strengthen academic and cultural exchanges in the future, jointly develop cooperative research projects, and provide more opportunities and platforms for student and teacher exchanges.

   Finally, both parties presented the signed cooperation agreement online, officially opening the partnership.

   The signing ceremony laid a solid foundation for the future cooperation between the two universities in all aspects, levels and fields. We believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, the two schools will be able to create a bright future of win-win cooperation.
